Cult BBC game show The Weakest Link is being rebooted, with comedian Romesh Ranganathan stepping up to ask the questions, the broadcaster has said. The quick-fire game show ran from 2000 until 2012, with Anne Robinson acting as the no-nonsense quizmaster.

It returned in 2017 for a Children In Need special, but has been off UK screens since. A number of international versions have been spawned, including in the US, where it is hosted by Glee star Jane Lynch.

But now, the latest version will be broadcast on BBC One with celebrity contestants. Ranganathan will oversee proceedings, which will see the famous faces work as a team to win money for charity.
