The World Health Organisation (WHO) has set a list of criteria countries like Scotland must meet before they are able to lift coronavirus lockdown.
Experts have warned lifting restrictions too quickly could undo a slowing rate of infection and result in a second wave of the virus.
It could have a devastating affect on the NHS which may not be able to cope with a surge of admissions. With the UK set to keep people on lockdown for at least another three weeks, the time delay would help get some of the measures in place, The Mirror reports.
