Coronavirus Ayrshire: Five deaths overnight as more than 200 battle Covid in hospital

NHS Ayrshire & Arran patients have died after testing positive for coronavirus, it was revealed today.Public Health Scotland data shows that 31 people have now passed away from COVID-19 in the past seven days.A total of 483 people have died in the region since the pandemic began.The five Ayrshire patients were among 61 Scots to die in the past 24 hours after contracting Covid.The number of patients fighting Covid remains high with 208 in NHS Ayrshire & Arran facilities - down two from yesterday.And 13 people remain in ICU - one fewer than yesterday.Ayrshire also recorded 169 new Covid tests overnight and almost 1000 (999) in the past seven days.The total number of cases in the region now stands at 11,729.Across Scotland 2,160 new cases have.
