The COP26 food menu has been criticised for mostly serving meat, fish and dairy products by animal rights activists. Delegates at the climate change summit are able to order from a menu that has almost 60% animal-based products.
Fish and chips, beef burgers and haggis are just some of the items included on the menu. The remaining 40% of the menu which is available to view online, contains plant-based alternatives.
Animal rights group Animal Rebellion says that this does not go far enough, and has likened the decision to serve meat and dairy to ‘serving cigarettes at a cancer conference’.
