COP26 has been blamed for shoppers avoiding Glasgow after footfall in the city plummeted last month. The international climate summit saw around 25,000 delegates and journalists head to the SEC for two weeks while thousands more members of the public took part in street protests.
A number of prominent roads including the Clydeside Expressway were also closed to traffic as a huge security operation was put in place.
The event saw hotels in the city packed out and landlords charing huge rents for flats - but the economic benefits did not stretch to shops according to figures out today.
