Members of Tameside’s planning committee have approved plans for the demolition of the Flowery Field Community Centre in Hyde.
Homes for Life Ltd had applied to build a three storey apartment block comprising of 12 flats on the land at Spring Gardens.
Planning officer Steven Kirkham told the planning meeting that the centre is currently unoccupied and ‘not serving a community centre function’. “The building is in a poor condition requiring significant investment and this has resulted directly into a declining use from community groups,” he
