'Cold, calculating, systematic torturers' convicted of killing six-year-old Arthur Labinjo-Hughes

A 'wicked' stepmother has been found guilty of murdering a six-year-old boy. A court heard how Arthur Labinjo-Hughes endured months of abuse, including being starved of food and poisoned with salt, at the hands of 32-year-old Emma Tustin.

Tustin's partner, the boy's father, who had threatened to put his son 'six feet under', was found guilty of manslaughter. Arthur's grandmother described the pair as 'cold, calculating, systematic torturers'.

Coventry Crown Court heard that Arthur suffered an “unsurvivable brain injury” on June 16 2020 while in the care of stepmum Tustin at her home in Cranmore Road, Solihull.

She took 12 minutes to call 999 and lied to medics that Arthur “fell and banged his head and while on the floor banged his head
