A step mum and her former boyfriend have been called 'evil' by police after their 'toxic combination' led to the killing of Arthur Labinko-Hughes.
Emma Tustin, 32, was convicted of murdering the six-year-old Arthur, while her ex-boyfriend and Arthur's dad Thomas Hughes, 29, was found guilty of manslaughter.
The pair have been branded as "jointly responsible" for the horrific death by Detective Inspector Laura Harrison, who led the investigation. Read more: This is despite the fact Tustin, 32, was the one to inflict the fatal injury at her home in Shirley, Solihull, West Midlands.
Police noted how the couple spent time in a hot tub in Tustin's garden while Arthur was made to stand for up to 14-hours a day by himself in a hallway.
