New guidance on shielding and protecting those who are clinically extremely vulnerable from COVID-19 has been published by the Government this evening (July 12).

It has led one politician to question if ministers are pursuing a “survival of the fittest” policy where the “most vulnerable will be thrown to the wolves”.

Covid-19 restrictions are set to come to an end in England on July 19. As such, official guidance has been updated to advise the 3.8 million people identified as clinically extremely vulnerable.
