After the reopening of schools last month, thousands of uniforms have already likely seen a number of spills and stains. For parents struggling to keep them looking fresh, a laundry expert has shared the most common stains and how to get rid of them.
Deyan Dimitrov, CEO of Laundryheap, is on hand with advice on how to help parents battle against tough stains and get school clothes looking as good as new.
He's revealed a couple of tricks to keep them looking in the best condition possible.Ink blotches can be especially tricky to remove from soft fabrics, and for this type of stain, time is of the essence.Immediately place a towel underneath the affected area and spray an alcohol-based hair spray directly on the stain.
Then, gently dab the area with a cloth to remove any residual liquid.Apply more hairspray and repeat the previous steps if the stain doesn’t appear to fade - eventually, the stain will slowly begin to lift out.Once the stain has vanished, wash the garment as normal, but be sure to use a biological-based detergent to remove any lingering chemicals.Using a bucket or washing up bowl, mix together white vinegar and water in a 1:1 ratio.
