I’M afraid I’ve got more bad news for the nation’s kids stuck at home. I can reveal Channel 4’s revamped Junior Bake Off is facing the axe after just one series as a result of the fallout from Covid-19.
The broadcaster resurrected the show, which aired for four seasons on the BBC, last year, recruiting Harry Hill, as the host, and Prue Leith and former Bake Off contestant Liam Charles as judges.
The cutesy competition only finished four months ago and applications for the next run opened in March. But it’s been pinpointed by bean counters as a potential victim amid £150million cost-cutting measures announced by Channel 4.
