Canadian Music Week will skip the Toronto music conference and festival’s 2020 edition due to overriding concern for the safety of all participants and attendees.
Canada’s biggest and longest-running industry conference, now in its 38th year, had already been postponed from May 19–23 when the coronavirus pandemic hit in March and was rescheduled for Sept.
9–11 at the Sheraton Centre and various venues. But as of May 3, Toronto had 6,278 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 449 deaths.
Residents have been asked to stay home as much as possible and all non-essential businesses are closed. As the rate of infection begins to slow, some seasonal businesses have now been allowed to reopen with safety protocols but all bars and restaurants remain
