Photographic negatives of Marilyn Monroe from behind the scenes of the 1953 film Niagara could fetch up to $50,000 when they hit the auction block.The lot, which features a total of 227 photographs, 198 of which depict Marilyn, were snapped by Canadian journalist and photographer Jock Carroll in 1952, while the Hollywood icon was preparing for her first top billed role as Rose Loomis in the thriller.The set is mostly comprised of black-and-white negatives, but includes some colour positive transparencies.
Alongside images of the star are snaps of the sets, scenery, and Niagara Falls.In addition to the negatives, the lot also includes the copyright to the images, which Carroll signed over to his son before he died.
