Callous Scots care worker who hit dementia sufferer showed 'no remorse'

dementia on the back has been struck off. The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) has removed Morag Thomson from the register after a hearing into her actions.

Thomson was working for Renaissance Care in October 2019 when she shouted at the service user, named only as AA, saying 'you’re not going anywhere until you’ve changed' and then struck them on the back.

In a report the SSSC said her 'behaviour falls well below the standards expected of a registered worker' and took the decision to strike her off.The body said her 'behaviour placed a vulnerable resident living with dementia at a risk of physical and emotional harm' and that she had 'not provided any meaningful insight, regret or apology'.Thomson had been working in the sector for.
