'Call of Duty' Franchise Sets Record, Earning Over $3B in Past Year

Video game publisher Activision Blizzard revealed on Friday that the Call of Duty franchise has set a new record by surpassing $3 billion in net bookings over the last 12 months.

This milestone was reached thanks to the November release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which is available on the Xbox Series X/S and the PlayStation 5, as well as the continued success of Modern Warfare and Warzone,the free-to-play online game that has surpassed 85 million players since its launch in March.

Call of Duty: Mobile remains a high driver of player engagement, with Activision sharing in its third-quarter report that the title was the highest-grossing game in U.S.
