The team behind Scots beer giant BrewDog has confirmed the Advertising Standards Authority is set to uphold a complaint against them over their 'solid gold' cans – which in fact turned out to be merely gold plated.
The brewing firm, which is based in Ellon in Aberdeenshire, claimed the cans, which were given away as part of a promo, were worth £15,000.This was disputed by one winner who said an independent valuer stated they were in fact made from brass and gold plating and worth just £500.BrewDog co-founder Martin Dickie had originally claimed in a tweet the cans would be 24 karat gold.However, the global beer brand has confirmed it will be responding to the ruling by offering a second gold can giveaway that will be "bigger and better"
