Emergency services rushed to the scene of crash on Barlow Moor Road in Chorlton just after 3.45pm this afternoon (Tuesday). An air ambulance landed nearby and the boy was taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said he is in a 'critically ill condition'. Barlow Moor Road remains closed off between Mauldeth Road West and High Lane with a large police presence at the scene.

Traffic is being diverted away from the area and bus diversions are in place. It has not been confirmed yet whether any arrests were made after
