Bonfire Night. Met Office forecasters are expecting the sky to remain clear until some patchy cloud descends on the country later in the evening.

There is a slight chance of light drizzle in western parts of the Highlands, but it will stay dry for the majority of Scotland.

But Scots will need to stock up on layers before heading out into the garden, as experts also anticipate the thermostat to plummet.Central and southern areas will see temperatures dip to a minimum of 4C, while northern parts will just stay above freezing at 1C.The sun is expected to set in Scotland at around 4.20pm this evening.Scots must stop setting off fireworks into the sky by midnight tonight under the law in Scotland.
