seal is recovering at a Scots wildlife sanctuary after losing his mum while only a day or two old. Gin the seal pup was so young his umbilical cord mark was visible when he washed up on a beach in England.He was rescued in Northumberland, near the village of Seahouses, by Marine Mammal Medic Sophia Jackson after being washed up from the coast's Farne Islands.
Sophia helped to keep him alive overnight, before he made the 150-mile trip to Beith, Ayrshire. He is now recovering at Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue, which c ares for injured and orphaned wildlife and became a registered charity in 1986.
