Ayrshire women's cycling festival success as three-day event proves online hit

Ayrshire Women’s Cycling Festival. The fifth-annual event was organised by The Ayr Active Travel Hub, The Kilmarnock Active Travel Hub and The Trinity Hub in Irvine and for the second year running was held virtually due to ongoing Covid restrictions.

But once again, the overall festival was hailed for its diversity and its mix of topics. Among the guest speakers was Maybole’s GB Para athlete Kayleigh Haggo, who talked about her career and the benefits of cycling.

Other speakers included Frankie Dewar, who cycled around the UK, and Claire Martin from Scottish Cycling. Fay Podger, who is who is one of the active travel hub officers, said: “Following the success of last year year’s virtual festival and given that a number of Covid-19.
