Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Ayrshire Hospice has launched a Christmas care appeal to help make this festive season an extra special one for its patients and their families.For many, Christmas is an exciting time to spend with loved ones but, sadly for some patients living with a life-limiting illness, it will be their last one spent with their family.That’s why, with the help of the community, Ayrshire Hospice is determined to make it as homely and festive as possible for patients, ensuring it is a special one to remember.The hospice’s appeal comes as rising costs see the charity fork out £22,000 per day to run their vital services, including providing physical, emotional and social support to those with any life-limiting illness including cancer, neurological conditions and lung disease.Chris Rodden, clinical manager: in-patients, care and quality at Ayrshire Hospice, said: “It costs £22,000 per day to run the Ayrshire Hospice.“As an independent charity, we only partner with the NHS and are only partially funded by them – two thirds of income is made possible due to voluntary donations from communities across Ayrshire and Arran.“The hospice’s vital work throughout Ayrshire and Arran continues and we are innovating, growing and continuing to reach more patients and families.”The Ayrshire Hospice team is currently rebuilding its permanent home on Ayr’s Racecourse Road as the existing facility is tired and now no longer fit for purpose.While the work is being completed, the in-patient unit has been relocated to operate in a self-contained bubble at East Ayrshire community hospital in Cumnock.The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now.Get all the local news in your area – plus features, football news and the latest on the coronavirus crisis –
