Attic Lights frontman Kev Sherry has formed a new duo, Disco Mary, where “there are no rules”. The Scot has joined forces with Dutch singer Charly Haze, with production by Chris McCrory of Catholic Action, to create a colourful hybrid of The Go-Team, Gorillaz, Deee-Lite, The Avalanches and 60s Motown and soul for the project.
He said: “Writing for Disco Mary is very different because I can go pretty berserk with my imagination as I’m not limited to the standard indie band set-up of guitars and drums.“Attic Lights is a very specific sound that is created between four people.
Whereas, Disco Mary is basically me and Charly doing absolutely anything that comes into our heads.“There are literally no rules other than following our inspirations.
