Arctic blast to hit UK this week as expert warns nine inches of snow is expected

A whopping nine inches of snow is expected to fall across Britain by the end of the week – and the freezing cold Arctic blast is set to continue until December.The whole of the UK is set to experience the mercury plummeting "significantly" by Thursday 25 November, say experts, with temperatures of -7C already on the way.

Forecasters say that those living in all parts of the country – including those as south as London – are likely to experience snow over the next few days.The Scottish Highlands has already seen its first snowfall of the season and by next week its expected that 9.4 inches (24cm) of snow will fall.
