An Airdrie youth group is in the running for a prestigious award recognising its inclusion of young people with additional support needs.The @home centre’s supported youth group has been nominated in the equality and diversity category at the 13th annual national youth work awards, run by Youth Link Scotland.Running for four years at the centre on Clark Street, the group is described as “inspirational” and a “saving grace” for helping young people with additional support needs, helping them to enjoy new experiences.Its members – who have a range of disabilities including cerebral palsy, autism, Asperger’s, with some also experiencing mental health issues – have achieved successes including earning Duke of Edinburgh, dynamic youth and John
