Airdrie man made homophobic and abusive remarks to police officers

HOMOPHOBE Kevin Bowman has been told by a sheriff that his conduct was “wholly unacceptable”.Kevin Bowman, 25, of Beechbank Avenue in Whinhall, behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm; he was shouting and swearing and adopting an aggressive attitude.Airdrie Sheriff Court then heard how Bowman began making abusive and homophobic remarks towards police officers in the execution of their duty.The offences happened on a number of occasions on February 22 at his home, Coatbridge police office and in the course of a journey between the police station and Monklands Hospital’s A&E unit.At the time of the offence, Bowman was on bail from Stirling Sheriff Court.Prosecutor Alice Carey
