Airdrie confirm new deal as star hails Diamonds 'exciting place to be'

Airdrie striker Calum Gallagher has signed up at the Diamonds for a fourth season.The forward first joined in 2019 but his future was uncertain with his most recent deal expiring this summer.He's put pen to paper on new terms that will see him stay until the summer of 2023 at least under new player-manager Rhys McCabe.Gallagher enjoyed an impressive season - scoring 16 times - as his team finished second in League One under Ian Murray and reached the final of the Championship play-off.

He said: “It’s nice to get it over the line and continue my tenure here. Since day dot signing here it’s been a place that I’ve really enjoyed being. “We’ve got a real strong core at the minute, and it’s just a really exciting place to be.
