Airdrie boss Rhys McCabe pinpoints club's 'one downfall' of last season as he discusses playing style target

Airdrie player/manager Rhys McCabe insists he's not coming in to rip up the style of play that proved so productive for the Diamonds last season.But he admits small changes will need to be made if they are to go one better and finish top of the League One table in 2022/23.McCabe was in the playing squad as Ian Murray led the New Broomfield side to a second-place finish last term before coming up just short in the play-off final against Queen's Park.Free-flowing football and a high press got them there and McCabe sees no reason to change that approach, which helped produce a club record 20-game unbeaten run last term.And he says he will look to implement a similar style, while pinpointing where they can improve on from last season's dropped points that ultimately cost them the title to Cove Rangers.The 29-year-old said: "I like to play football on the ground.
