Joseph Michael Kramer (born June 21, 1950) is the American drummer for the hard rock band Aerosmith. Kramer was born and raised into a Jewish family. He has become a born again Christian.
Kramer was born in the Bronx, New York City, the son of Doris and Mickey Kramer, a businessman. His memoir, Hit Hard: A Story of Hitting Rock Bottom at the Top, was released on June 30, 2009. Kramer is credited with originating the name Aerosmith.

The obituary noted that the couple was "inseparable" and Linda made Joey’s wellbeing and happiness her "top priority." In March, Joey shared that he would not be joining Aerosmith on their Las Vegas Residency, citing family reasons for his "temporary leave of absence." "He has regrettably made the decision to sit out the band's concerts in 2022 so he can focus his full attention on his family during these uncertain times," the group shared in a statement to USA today.
