Aberdeen were represented at a meeting of clubs invited to Italian giants Juventus as part of the Serie A side’s ‘Club 15’ project.
Pittodrie director of football Steven Gunn was in Turin in a move that could help the Reds recruitment in the future as they look to strengthen ties with the 36-time top flight winners.Juventus said the move was designed to “develop, enhance and maintain relationships with foreign football clubs, in order to promote talents and create a virtuous network of collaborations.” Gunn travelled to Italy and as part of the trip took in the side’s 2-1 win over Venezia and the Under-23s play-off match.And The Scotsman report that Aberdeen were invited over by Juventus and the Dons were joined by representatives from WSG Swarowski Tirol, Mirandes, AEK Athens, Utrecht, Deportivo Alaves, Vitesse, St.
Gallen and Cincinnati FC.Aberdeen formed a “strategic partnership” with American side Atlanta United two years ago aimed at boosting the Pittodrie side on and off the park.
And this latest move could also lead to Jim Goodwin landing some of the Italian club’s rising stars heading to the north east in the future.
