St Johnstone match, despite new lockdown restrictions in the Granite City. A spike in coronavirus cases in the north east of Scotland means First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has reintroduced strict social distancing measures.

Bars and restaurants were ordered to close from 5pm on Wednesday, with Aberdonians urged not to travel more than five miles unless for work reasons.

That raised fears that the Scottish Premiership season could be interrupted in just the second week of fixtures, but it appears Aberdeen will be allowed to play.
