Yeah Yeah Yeahs, is releasing his instrumental suite ’41 Strings’ digitally and on vinyl for the first time this summer.The collection, which is made up of four movements that mirror the seasons, arrives on July 1 via Chaikin Records – a label imprint run by Zinner’s Yeah Yeah Yeahs bandmate, Brian Chase.You can listen to one of the songs from the collection, ‘Fall’, here:The collection first premiered in New York in 2011 and was a commission for the 41st anniversary of Earth Day. The album version was recorded in May 2011 at Water Music in New Jersey.’41 Strings’ has been performed in public just three times since then.Performers on the album in addition to Zinner include guitarists Aku Orraca-Tetteh, David Pajo, Siebren Versteeg, and Joshua Zucker, as well as bassist Andy Macleod, drummer Brian Chase, and others.Recently, Yeah Yeah Yeahs announced their first UK headline shows in nine years, where they’re set to try out some new material.

Succession star Nicholas Braun is working on a series centred on an indie band in the 2000s.The actor, who is best known for playing Cousin Greg in the hit HBO show, is co-writing One For The Road with Chris Buongiorno (Spider-Man: No Way Home) for the same network.The half-hour show will be an intimate and candid story focused on a talented but chaotic band in the changing landscape of indie rock in the early noughties as they struggle to survive.The show is currently in the development stage, according to Variety, with Braun and Buongiorno also acting as executive producers.One For The Road isn’t the only writing work Braun has been involved with lately, the star revealing last year that he was developing the script for a “social horror movie” about reality shows.“I find reality shows to be kind of horrific,” he told GQ, explaining that he had been watching reality shows while in lockdown.During lockdown, the actor was also signed to Atlantic Records on the back of creating song ‘Antibodies (Do You Have The)‘, which was played more than a million times across Spotify and YouTube.Meanwhile, Succession writer Georgia Pritchett revealed last month that Braun’s character Greg was nearly written as gay on the HBO series.“It’s interesting how characters take on a life of their own,” she said on the Homo Sapiens podcast.“I had sort of advocated for Greg to be gay – until last season he hadn’t really done anything with anyone.” Pritchett went on to state her belief that the Roy children also move “in a circle where I think anything goes”.“I don’t think anyone’s closeted or not gonna do what they want to do,” the writer added, suggesting Kieran Culkin’s character Roman “feels a bit fluid and pan”.“I don’t think he’d hold back

Damon Albarn and Flume have collaborated on a new single, ‘Palaces’, giving the slick track its live debut at Coachella over the weekend.During the second weekend of the festival, Albarn – who had joined Billie Eilish onstage the previous weekend – joined Flume to deliver the live debut of ‘Palaces’, an atmospheric and emotive tune defined by its warbling, reverberant melody and warm piano chords.Take a look at fan-shot footage of the pair performing ‘Palaces’ at Coachella below:And watch the single’s official music video here:Flume also brought out Toro y Moi for a performance of their 2020 single ‘The Difference’. Hard-Fi have announced a special reunion gig to take place in London and hinted at new music, as well as the potential of a wider tour.The band last performed live together in 2014, the same year that they released the greatest hits album ‘Hard-Fi: Best Of 2004-2014’.After teasing their return with posters around London, the group have now confirmed they will get back together for a show in the city later this year. Speaking to fans on a Facebook Live stream earlier this evening, frontman Richard Archer shared details of the gig, which will take place at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town on October 1, 2022.“You may have seen the signs around town – 1st of October 2022, we’re getting the band back together,” Archer began.

Hard-Fi have revealed that they will be making an announcement later today (April 24).In a clip shared on social media, Hard-Fi confirm that they will be going live here at 6:30pm tonight with a “big announcement”.The video also displays the cover art for their 2005 debut album ‘Stars of CCTV’ alongside a date – 1st October 2022. Pavement have announced a 30th anniversary reissue of their debut album, ‘Slanted & Enchanted’.The 1992 album came out 30 years ago earlier this week via Matador Records, and comes ahead of the band’s live reunion this summer.The new reissue, set to come out on August 12, will see the original LP released on red/white/black splatter vinyl, alongside a cassette edition titled ‘Courting Shutdown Offers’, which features demo versions of the album that the band used to shop the alnum to record labels.The band’s latest reissue follows the release of ‘Terror Twilight: Farewell Horizontal’, a special reissue of their final studio album ‘Terror Twilight’. Declan McKenna has shared new track ‘Elephant’ with all proceeds going to charity – however it’s only available for the next two weeks.Described by McKenna as a demo, ‘Elephant’ carries on the dystopian themes of 2020’s second album ‘Zeroes’ but pushes things further, taking on a more industrial vibe.The track is available until May 6 with at least £1.30 of the £1.99 price tag going to Brian Eno’s climate change charity EarthPercent. Arcade Fire have spoken about Peter Gabriel and Father John Misty‘s contributions to their upcoming new album, ‘WE’.The Canadian band are due to release their sixth studio effort on May 6 via Columbia Records. It was produced by long-term Radiohead collaborator Nigel Godrich along with the group’s Win Butler and Régine Chassagne.During a recent interview with the Montreal Gazette, it was noted that Gabriel contributed to a dance-orientated album track called ‘Unconditional II (Race and Religion)’ on which Chassagne takes the lead.“[Gabriel] came to the studio and we had a day to work on it,” Butler told the outlet.

Tom Grennan has shared an update after being attacked in New York, while thanking fans for their “incredible” support.The singer-songwriter was hospitalised following an “unprovoked attack and robbery” outside a bar in Manhattan after playing a headline show in New York City. As a result, he was forced to postpone his scheduled performance in Washington, D.C.

Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler has spoken about the experience of writing the band’s new album ‘WE’ during the pandemic.In a new interview with the Montreal Gazette, Butler reflected on the making of their upcoming sixth studio album, during which he and his wife and bandmate Régine Chassagne, who were in New Orleans, were separated from the rest of the band due to lockdown.“They were closing the borders to Canada,” he said. “We had written ‘Age of Anxiety’, ‘End of the Empire’ and a bunch of songs.

Sam Fender has announced details of an intimate charity show that he’ll play in Newcastle next month.The ‘Seventeen Going Under’ artist will return to his native north east on May 24 for a special gig at Newcastle’s O2 City Hall, marking the first time that he will have played live at the 2600-capacity venue.The show will raise money for North East Homeless, who provide support to those who are vulnerable and homeless in the north east of England, as well as food and emergency equipment at street outreach sessions.Fender, who is a patron of the charity, dedicated his BRIT Award for Alternative/Rock Act to the organisation back in February.This is going to be next level. Phoebe Bridgers has suggested she may release more new music this year, saying that she always “tries to do things that are exciting”.Last week saw the Los Angeles singer-songwriter return with ‘Sidelines’, a standalone song that was recorded for the upcoming TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s novel Conversations With Friends.Bridgers wrote the track with bandmate and collaborator Marshall Vore and Ruby Rain Henley. Wet Leg have announced a string of 13 headline shows for cities in the US, Canada and Mexico, bridging the gap between a handful of festival sets and their trio of gigs supporting Florence + The Machine.Following their appearances as this year’s Lollapalooza, Mo Pop and Osheaga festivals, the Isle of Wight duo will take to the Phoenix Concert Centre in Toronto, Canada on Monday August 1. Foals have announced the launch of their very own hot sauce, ‘Holy Fire Hot Honey’ – you can purchase the spicy condiment here.Released in collaboration with Sauce Shop, the limited edition hot honey drizzle is the brainchild of the Oxford band’s drummer Jack Bevan, who is a long-time hot sauce fan.Swapping the studio for the kitchen, Bevan devised a combination of sweet honey and habaneros before adding activated charcoal to make a unique dark elixir, “perfect for drizzling on pizzas, chicken wings, or anything else you fancy,” a press release reads.Speaking on his new sauce, the drummer said: “I’ve been a fan of Sauce Shop’s sauces for ages, so it only felt right to collaborate for Foals’ first-ever food launch. This is going to be a staple for me on our new tour and tastes amazing drizzled on anything!”The collaboration marks the band’s first foray into food products, with ‘Holy Fire Hot Honey’ set to be sold as part of the band’s official tour merchandise when Foals kick off their UK tour tonight (April 20) in Edinburgh.Run by Pam and James Digva, Sauce Shop is the UK-based creative condiment maker behind ‘Brussel Sprout Ketchup’ and ’12:51′ by Chef James Cochran’s Scotch Bonnet Chilli Jam.“We feel so lucky to collaborate with Jack on his hot sauce, we are huge Foals fans and are excited to see Holy Fire Hot Honey as part of the official band merchandise,” Pam said of their collaboration with Foals.

Sharon Van Etten has told NME of her deep connection with collaborator and tourmate Angel Olsen. “[She’s] one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met,” Van Etten said.Van Etten was speaking in a new Big Read cover feature ahead of the release of her sixth studio album ‘We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong’, due out on May 6.Discussing Olsen, who she collaborated with on 2021 single ‘Like I Used To’ and will tour North America with alongside Julien Baker this summer, Van Etten said: “Angel is one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met, and our friendship is still growing.”Of the potential of future collaborations, she added: “Our schedules are pretty crazy coming up, but I feel like this is just the beginning of working together.”Elsewhere in the Big Read cover feature, Van Etten discussed her experience filming The OA, saying she felt like an “imposter” on set.The singer-songwriter played Rachel DeGrasso in the Netflix series created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij.

The Smile have announced their debut album, ‘A Light For Attracting Attention’, alongside the release of a brand new track called ‘Free In The Knowledge’.The band – comprising Thom Yorke, his Radiohead bandmate Jonny Greenwood and Sons of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner – formed last year and have been sharing sporadic teasers of a debut album since.They’ve so far released ‘You Will Never Work In Television Again’, ‘The Smoke’,  ‘Skrting On The Surface’, and earlier this month they shared ‘Pana-vision’, a track taken from the Peaky Blinders soundtrack.Today (April 20), The Smile have confirmed the release of their much anticipated debut LP, ‘A Light For Attracting Attention’, which will arrive May 13 via XL Recordings.Produced and mixed by Nigel Godrich and mastered by Bob Ludwig, the 13-track album will feature strings by the London Contemporary Orchestra and a full brass section of contemporary UK jazz players including Byron Wallen, Theon and Nathaniel Cross, Chelsea Carmichael, Robert Stillman and Jason Yarde.The trio have also shared the latest preview of the album, ‘Free In The Knowledge’.
