Wythenshawe hospital is set to become a massive new ‘health village’ - including a rebuild, affordable housing for nurses and an ‘aparthotel’ for patients.

The plans, which will take between 10 and 15 years to complete, will also aim to attract world-class scientific research and training.

Manchester council and health bosses aim to focus on prevention as well, wrapping together medical care with social support such as libraries and sport.
