A £1m waterside food hall is opening in Manchester today

The £1m venue, from the founders of Assembly Underground in Leeds, has taken over the former Pitcher and Piano site near the Bridgewater Hall.

The Barbirolli Square site has been empty for almost a decade but has now been transformed, and will bring together some of the north's brightest street food businesses.

Several well-loved Manchester names have taken up stalls in the 8,073 sq ft space, including Indian restaurant Chaat Cart and a new pizza concept from Ancoats' Elnecot.
