2K Games reportedly adds unskippable in-game ads to ‘NBA 2K21’

2K Games has reportedly introduced unskippable advertisements to its popular sports game, NBA 2K21.The in-game ads were first noticed by Stevivor, which uploaded a recording of an Oculus ad appearing in the premium game on Sunday (October 18).

The publication claims that the ads appear in the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of the game.“They’re unskippable, attached to a pre-game video called ‘MyTEAM Season 2, Episode 7’ that’s auto-started in a loading screen that takes longer than the ad runs (even on a PC running from an SSD),” said Stevivor in its report.Check out the video below.It is currently unclear if the ads will also appear in the upcoming next-gen versions of the game.
