Zac Efron really understood the impact of High School Musical‘s mass appeal when he was camping in Papua New Guinea.
The 34-year-old Firestarter actor spoke to Jimmy Kimmel on his talk show on Tuesday night (May 10), and opened up about how he was recognized by a local tribe because of his HSM fame. Click inside to read more… “I lived with this local tribe,” Zac told Jimmy about his travels after leaving Australia last year. “They came from the Sepik River and are known as the crocodile people because they live in the Sepik River and worship crocodiles.
He is their divinity, their god.” He then went on to tell the story of how the tribe knew him. Zac shared, “I was out there camping, I didn’t have a cellphone.
We were off the grid. There is no technology in Papa New Guinea. We were sleeping in one of the little huts they had for us.
