Young man 'covered in blood' after being attacked on his way home from a night out in Bolton

A young couple say the were attacked by a pair of thugs after a night out in Bolton, leaving him needed specialist medical care for his facial injuries.

Callum Lawton, 20, says he was beaten up by two men as he and his girlfriend made their way home from Bolton town centre. Mr Lawton had just finished a night shift at The Railway pub in Bromley Cross and had met up with girlfriend Ellie Anderson, 18, in the town centre afterwards at around 1am on Saturday morning.

The couple went out for food and went on to Bolton pub The Swan before heading to nearby club, Bamboogy. Mr Lawton and Ms Anderson describe leaving to return home at around 6am and getting money from a cash machine in Deansgate when they were approached by two men.
