manchestereveningnews.co.ukhereLater that month, Nicholson and Poulson stole a safe containing about £20,000 worth of jewellery, after getting into a man's house by falsely claiming his water pipes had burst.They fled to Poulson's home, and then went to a branch of Cash Converters to try and pawn the jewellery.But the victim of the burglary quickly contacted police, and they traced the culprits.Poulson pleaded guilty to two counts of fraud and one count of handling stolen goods.Judge Mansell told her: "I have little doubt that you committed these offences partly out of a false sense of loyalty to your brother."I also sense a degree of helplessness on your part when it comes to challenging your brother as to where and in what circumstances he had obtained these stolen.
