Cops have arrested a suspected vandal after windows were allegedly smashed at a plush Edinburgh city centre hotel. Officers were called to the five-star Grand Hotel off exclusive St Andrew Square shortly after 9am on Tuesday.The 58-year-old arrested man was taken to hospital after suffering slight injuries.Photos showed panes smashed on the third floor and what looked like a broken lamp dangling through one window.Three damaged windows were clearly visible from the West Register Street side of the building.A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 9.05am on Tuesday, 2 June, we were called to reports of a man vandalising a business on St Andrew Square.“Officers attended and a 58-year-old man was arrested.
