Walking and cycling scheme finally set to launch in Levenshulme and Burnage at start of year

direct to your inbox Plans for a six-month trial of the first phase of a walking and cycling scheme in Levenshulme and north Burnage at the start of the year have been announced by Manchester council.

The work will see 14 planters installed to prevent through-traffic from accessing specific residential roads which have become known as rat runs.The roads forming part of the filtered trials include Longden Road, Osbourne Road, Victoria Road and Buckhurst Road.Despite originally being set to take place over the Christmas school holidays, work will now begin on the week of January 4 and is expected to be completed within four days.Council officials launched a public consultation on the plans earlier this year and said that more than 3,500.
