Tyldesley for more than 100 years will return to the town in the New Year. Dawsons was originally founded in 1912 and was based on Shuttle Street - yards away from other long-standing pie shop Whittakers.After more than 100 years serving its trademark peppery pies, Dawsons was placed into administration and closed down in 2018.It was a long-standing Whittakers customer who eventually bought the naming rights for Dawsons - local businessman Mike Smith."I got involved two and a half years ago," he said."My cousin had worked there since 1979 and worked at the original one.
