Virus outbreak at Glasgow station as eight firefighters test positive

Covid-19 at Govan Fire Station. Scottish Fire and Rescue Service bosses tonight confirmed the emergency service workers had contracted the virus and were now self isolating.

The station has been deep cleaned and employees are expected to return to the job later this week.Roddie Keith, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service’s Local Senior Officer for the City of Glasgow, reassured the public that their safety is the services main priority and are continuing to respond to emergencies.

He said: “I can confirm that eight firefighters at Govan Fire Station, Glasgow, recently tested positive for COVID-19 and self-isolated in line with guidance from the Scottish Government. “They are expected to return to work later this week. “I would like to.
