Viewers in awe of Ireland’s Fittest Family supermum after gruelling challenge

Ireland’s Fittest Family returned to our screens on Sunday night and had us shouting at the screen in no time. But there was one moment in particular that had Ireland’s Fittest Family viewers gripped and that was when 50-year-old supermum Madeline Doyle who took on an intense balancing challenge.

In the first challenge of the new season, Sole Survivor, one person must balance on one leg on a log, six metres up in the treetops for as long as it takes the team to bring back 40 bags weighing 20kg over and under a series of logs.

The families nominate one member to do the tricky balance, but one slip and they’re out. After two minutes of balancing on two legs, the ‘sole survivor’ had to switch to one leg for as long as possible.
