Couples who are finally set to tie the knot after months of Covid delays could be eligible for a £252 a year boost thanks to the Marriage Allowance.

That’s the scheme that allows non-taxpayers to pass 10% of their personal tax-free allowance to their partner each year. Nearly 1.8million married couples and those in civil partnerships are using Marriage Allowance to save up to £252 a year in income tax, latest HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) figures show.
