veterinary practice has has issued an urgent warning to every dog owner who walks their pooch through woodland. Concerns have been raised after a handful of cases of dogs being struck down by seasonal canine illness (SCI) have been reported in the UK.

According to the Healthy Pet Club, the disease affects dogs shortly after walking in woodland and it can be fatal if it is not treated early enough.Chronicle Live reports that a vets practice has now taken to social media to share what pup owners need to keep an eye out for.

Dowding Vets, in Lincolnshire, wrote: "Seasonal Canine Illness ALERT!!! "We have just seen our first case of seasonal canine illness."Take care when walking around the Daneshill Lakes area; but remember your dog could be.
