An agreement for Tyson Fury to face Oleksandr Usyk is believed to have moved a step closer, as the pair are said to have agreed a 50:50 purse split for their unification bout.

In addition, the fight will not take place before the end of this year, with a proposed bout taking place early next year. Fury had an extremely favourable purse split for his most recent fight with Dillian Whyte, taking home the lion's share of an 80:20 split for the Wembley fight.

However, for a unification fight against the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world, a more equitable split is expected.

This has been revealed by ESPN analyst Mark Kriegel, who has spoken to Fury's US promoter and one of the key protagonists in any potential deal, Bob Arum.
