As the coronavirus pandemic continues, the cost to human life has become unmeasurable. From families who have lost loves ones to this awful disease, to those who feel isolated due to restrictions on every day life - each day has been hard.

But for every tragic story created by COVID-19, it is important to remember there are tales of hope. Many of those people hospitalised by the virus have lived, and been able to return home to their friends and families.

And as they are wheeled out from coronavirus wards, our amazing NHS staff have applauded them. From the 84-year-old granddad to the 'miracle' new born baby - these are the touching moments survivors were clapped for as they left hospital across our region.
