Warner Music India has announced a partnership with Indian pop star Armaan Malik which will see the major and the musician sign artists via his Always Music Global label. Elsa Keslassy International CorrespondentNetflix has signed a three-year agreement with French film guilds to invest a minimum of €40 million ($45 million) in the financing of French and European movies which will be released in French theaters.Netflix previously signed a pact with France’s broadcasting authorities to start investing 20% of their annual revenues on French content, both series and movies, as part of a French decree which stemmed from the implementation of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (Avms). Tuesday’s milestone agreement will see Netflix investing 4% of its annual revenue made in France on the financing of French and European movies, with at least €30 million invested in French-language movies.

Lockdown continues and so does The Shows Must Go On, the Universal/ Andrew Lloyd Webber YouTube channel which has been premiering a musical production each and every Friday evening for the last number of weeks. This week’s offering is one of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s greatest, Cats. The musical, which was first staged in 1981, has played to millions all over the world in the 39 years since, and this weekend, web audiences will have the opportunity to see a production of the hit. The Cats YouTube stream will be of the 1999 staging which featured Elaine Page and Sir John Mills.

This week the Love Never Dies YouTube screening will take place. The show is the sequel to the celebrated ‘Phantom’ and it will all take place in just over 24 hours’ time.

Following on from this weekend’s stream of The Phantom Of The Opera, The Shows Must Go On YouTube channel will premiere the musical’s follow-up, Love Never Dies from this Friday evening. This will be the 2012 version starring Ben Lewis and Anna O’Byrne.

The performance will be one from London’s Royal Albert Hall, recorded in 2011 to celebrate 25 years of the smash hit show. The Phantom Of The Opera YouTube stream will see Ramin Karimloo play the iconic Phantom and Sierra Boggess as Christine.

Andrew Lloyd-Webber will make some of his hit musicals available to watch for free on YouTube during the coronavirus crisis.

We’ve just heard that a brand new YouTube channel titled The Shows Must Got On is set to be launched offering full theatre performances from some of the best productions online for free. Recent weeks have seen the temporary closure of theatres and their shows, meaning audiences around the world are spending more time at home than usual. The new YouTube Channel is set to provide theatre lovers with a West End and Broadway experience in their own homes, online for free. The Shows Must Go On YouTube channel is a great idea and is sure to be a massive hit with people in need of their musical theatre fix from Broadway, the West End and beyond whilst stuck at home during this difficult time.
