The Repair Shop hosts close to tears as grieving orphan who lost both parents in 8 months shares their love story

THE Repair Shop's Jay Blades was overcome with emotion at the story of an orphan repairing her parents' beloved chair. Tonight's BBC One episode will see Blades brought to tears over Chantal Taylor's tragic story after losing both her parents within eight months of each other.

Her parents, David and Perla both died suddenly in 2018 leaving their daughter an orphan. Chantal, 31, was left with the tough task of cleaning up the family home and couldn't bear to part with an antique Italian chair.

Despite being "beyond repair", Chantal brought the ornate chair into The Repair Shop for Blades and fellow expert Hannah Weston-Smith to get their hands on.
