Lenny Johnrose, who made more than 230 appearances for Bury over two spells, was diagnosed with the incurable condition four years ago and is now confined to a wheelchair.

To highlight the work of the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA), he is now asking people to see if they can keep their cool by taking part in the Ice Foot challenge.
