When you think of the Peak District, impressive hills and dramatic crags probably spring to mind. Yet it also has its fair share of beautiful woodland walks.

One which is particularly magical is Padley Gorge, a mesmerising stretch of ancient oak and birch woodland in a deep valley.

It’s a place where you’ll find twisted tree branches, tumbling waterfalls and winding streams. This gorgeous wooded valley is located in the eastern part of the National Park and is easily reached from Grindleford train station, just an hour away from Manchester.

Padley Gorge has even been named one of the most Instagrammable places in the UK so it’s definitely worth a visit.
